Solar System walk

Voir en plein écran

On a 7 km loop, you will travel through the solar system from the sun to Neptune, the last planet.
The representation is made using the same scale of representation for the distances between planets as well as their size: everything is reduced 700 million times!
This makes it possible to appreciate the distances between planets by walking and the real sizes in the solar system by observing the images to scale. Above all, it makes it possible to appreciate the place and smallness of the Earth, a small blue ball orbiting the Sun.
If you don't want to or can't do the full loop, you can go as far as Mars and then retrace your steps to the constellation trail on the same side of the river canal. This will give you an idea of what can be seen in the sky.

Constellation walk

Voir en plein écran

As you walk this 4km loop along the canal, you will discover some of the constellations that we can see in a starry sky in our northern hemisphere.
Each constellation will be accompanied by a few photos of remarkable objects in their vicinity. Each of these astrophotos was taken by members of the Mont-Bernenchon Astronomy Club.
By the time you have completed this loop, nebulae, galaxies, globular clusters, open clusters... all should be a little more familiar to you.
